There are five specially unlockable characters in total. They cannot be opened by fulfilling certain conditions in one level, but can be opened by fulfilling a whole set of conditions at different levels or in the game as a whole.
Tadakatsu Honda: In each level 7-X of each Musou mode, reach a certain state to attract Tadakatsu's attention. These states:
In Shu Chapter 7-X - Battle of Xi Liang, kill Lu Bu within 2 minutes and allow the three Peasants to escape.
In Wei Chapter 7-X - Struggle for Nan Zhong, save Tadamasa Honda and Tadatomo Honda before Tadakatsu Honda arrives and then kill Lu within 2 minutes.
In Wu Chapter 7-X - Battle of Ji Province, defeat Tadakatsu Honda in the central area of the map, then defeat Tadakatsu Honda within 2 minutes when he reappears in the northeast area of the map.

Firstly, the game will have a new mode - Unlimited! If anyone remembers the Survival mode from the original Samurai Warriors 2, then everything will be immediately clear to them. You are in a dungeon castle and fight opponents on floors, but if in SW2 you went up to the highest floor, then here it’s the other way around: you move down into the depths of the dungeon. The main feature of this mode will be that you can take not 3, but 5 characters onto your team; you can switch between characters with just one button. Also in this mode, it will be possible to activate a donation: you will be able to place all 3 or 5 characters on the battlefield at once, the price for this is that your health will not be replenished.
This mode will also feature co-op: two players freely control two characters on the same team; unused squad members are under AI control. Also, if you are playing with two players, you can make an attack together Shin Musou Burst, where each player has 3 characters from their team on the field and they make a special Musou with six characters. In addition, in this mode you can get very rare weapons - five-star ones with a very strong attack, interesting things, experience, levels and more.
If you watch the latest trailer for the game, you will notice that Damage points are displayed above the number of enemies you have killed (K.O.), and you can also change the formation of your team: you can change their order at any time.
Secondly, two new chapters will appear: one tells about what happened before the plot we know - The Tale of the Former Day, another - what will happen after - The Tale of the Latter Day. They can be played not only on the side of allies, but also on the side of opponents. The details of what exactly will be narrated in these chapters are unknown, but I’ll do some guesswork and assume that in the first they will tell us how and why Orochi decided to collect warriors from two eras, and the second will be about how the characters return to their eras.
Thirdly, the special ability Midair Tie Up Action will appear, which will change your special attacks to others assigned to the R1 button. At first it seemed to everyone that this would be a new category of characters, already the fifth, but Koei then explained to everyone that a new category of characters would not appear soon. Also, characters in the vehicle category (the others: strength, speed, miracle) will have a new ability: by holding X while attacking, you will find yourself behind the enemy; this is very convenient when fighting against strong generals.
Fourthly, the Musou Battlefield mode will change. Let me remind you that in this mode you can create your own battle based on the one that is already in the game; in the Japanese version this mode is called Edit Mode. Now you can create your own conversation between characters, edit line messages (the place where conversations of officers, peasants, envoy reports, and so on are displayed). And also, by spending money on editing the battlefield, you can create battles that have never happened and never will.
Fifthly, each character will have four slots for things, instead of two, and the horse will have its own separate slot. Character "growth" is now dependent on weapon and stat upgrades, meaning that even a character's maximum data stats can still be changed to a certain extent. And the maximum level will now be 100, not 99. There will also be a color editor for players to customize the appearance of their characters, just like in Samurai Warriors 3. The trailer shows very clearly how it works.
Sixthly, everything that was in the versions that were released on PSP and Wii U will also be in Ultimate, namely: 4 new characters: Rachel And Momiji from Ninja Gaiden, Seimei no Abe(legendary Japanese mystic) and Shen Nong(one of the Three Lords of China); a couple of new chapters; two new modes: Battle Royal Mode, Duel Mode.
A little about the DLC for Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate, which will appear after the game itself. The best thing is that they will be on both PS3 and PSVita, and now what will actually be there: costumes for characters, battles, weapons and music (BGM). As for the costumes: it is already known that there will be DLC with the Fury Mode of characters from Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce 2. A little about the upcoming DLC battles: just like in all Warriors Orochi games there will be many, many of them. It has already been confirmed that there will be battles from Dynasty Warriors 7, Samurai Warriors 3 and Warriors Orochi 2, and they will have their own original music (BGM), as well as all other battles.
In Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate it will be possible to import your save from Warriors Orochi 3 and the DLC purchased for it, although there is no mention of which version we are talking about, Western or Japanese, so we can assume that this delight will only be available to the Japs! XD
So we quietly and smoothly approached new characters, and there will be as many as 9 of them!
First, let's remember who was shown to us during the announcement of the game itself. These were Tamamo no Mae(according to mythology, the most beautiful and intelligent woman in Japan) and Xu Shu from Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires.
Then they showed Inluna(Rain Dragon from ancient Chinese mythology) and Kasumi from Dead or Alive.
Next they announced a character from the Atelier series - Sterkenburg Cranach and almost immediately showed Sophitia Alexandra from Soul Calibur and Living Nezha(previously there was a cyborg in the game).
After this, there was a lull of almost a month: there was not a single news about the game, not a single screenshot, only rumors that the Nine-Tailed Fox from Naruto would be added to the game. Yes, yes, everyone thought that they would add that same Kyuubi. Then there were rumors that it would be Yoko, the Spirit of the Nine-Tailed Fox, who would appear in Unlimited mode.
And Koei decided not to torment their fans and recently announced another character - Kyuubi no Kitsune - Nine-Tailed Fox. Her weapons are Celestial Robes, including her tails. What part she will take in the plot is still unknown, but from her rendering it is clear that she would fit into Orochi’s Mom.
And recently they announced, most likely, the last character - Hundunya- One of the Four Fiends of Chinese mythology, the Demon who is considered the source of all chaos.

The game will be released in Japan on September 26th. but it is already ready and has been sent to the warehouses of some Japanese stores. A release outside of Japan has not yet been confirmed, but there is no need to fear: Koei always talk about a Western release after the game is released in its homeland.
Each character in the game can receive a unique item. It is needed to open an additional picture in the gallery, and also adds 1 skill point (Proficiency scale) to the character.
The level of difficulty when obtaining an item does not matter.

There are a total of five specially unlockable characters. They cannot be opened by fulfilling certain conditions at one level, but can be opened by fulfilling a whole set of conditions at different levels or in the game as a whole.
Tadakatsu Honda: In each level 7-X of each Musou mode, reach a certain state to attract Tadakatsu's attention. These states:
In Shu Chapter 7-X - Battle of Xi Liang, kill Lu Bu within 2 minutes and allow the three Peasants to escape.
In Wei Chapter 7-X - Struggle for Nan Zhong, save Tadamasa Honda and Tadatomo Honda before Tadakatsu Honda arrives, then kill Lu within 2 minutes.
In Wu Chapter 7-X - Battle of Ji Province, defeat Tadakatsu Honda in the central area of the map, then defeat Tadakatsu Honda within 2 minutes when he reappears in the northeast area of the map.

Skills in Warriors Orochi are unlocked after fulfilling a number of certain conditions for a specific character. Usually this is the killing of a certain number of enemy officers or soldiers over a certain period of time. Sometimes you need to complete a level without doing certain things, such as using a special attack. Sometimes you need to complete a level without wasting any Musou power at all. This requirement also applies to the counter-attack of equipment characters
Skills you can get and their maximum levels:
Vitality (20): Increases the length of your Life Gauge.
Focus (20): Increases the length of your Musou Gauge.
Potence (20): Increases attack power.
Fortitude (20): Increases defense.
Impulse (20): Increases speed.
Cavalier (10): Increases your horse's attack power. Also, the higher the level of this ability, the better horse you get. As a result, at level 10 you will receive either Red Hare or Matsukaze, depending on the starting character.
Karma (10): Increases your “luck” (the number of things dropped by enemies).
Power (20): Increases the attack of Power characters.
Speed (20): Increases the attack of Speed characters.
Technique (20): Increases the attack of Technique characters.
Boost (20): Increases the power of attack attacks.
Awakening (20): Increases the power of Musou attacks and special abilities that use the Musou Gauge.
Acclaim (20): Increases the amount of experience gained.
Recuperate (10): Allows a resting character to replenish Musou faster.
Conserve (10): Reduces the amount of Musou needed for attacks that use the Musou Gauge.
Adrenalin (10): As soon as you make a combo greater than 10, life is restored.
Recover (10): Life Gauge is gradually restored.
Refill (10): Musou Gauge is gradually restored
Unique Character Items
Each character in the game can receive a unique item. It is needed to open an additional picture in the gallery, and also adds 1 skill point (Proficiency scale) to the character.
The level of difficulty when obtaining an item does not matter.
Remember - ONLY the character whose item you are going to receive must fulfill the condition.
Tip: to avoid wasting time, pause the game during long dialogues.
